Jeeves and the Wedding Bells: An Homage to P.G. Wodehouse by Sebastian Faulks
One of literature’s most celebrated duo’s returns in this tribute novel written by Sebastian Faulks (author of The Girl at the Lion d’Or, Birdsong, and Charlotte Gray).
Bertie Wooster returns to London from his holiday abroad heartbroken, the girl he loves is engaged to another, and hoping to forget. He gets his wish and soon he and his trusty and brainy butler Jeeves are called to “rally round” and to come to the aid of his old school friend Peregrine “Woody” Beeching who has romantic troubles of his own.
But even Jeeves’ sometimes go awry and soon he and Bertie are up to their necks in mistaken identity, role-reversals, more romantic troubles, and a cut-throat village cricket match. There is certainly trouble on the horizon for Bertie and Jeeves, so much trouble that even Jeeves’ famous brain-power might not be able to get them out of it in time.
