You Can Never Find a Rickshaw When It Monsoons: The World on One Cartoon a Day by Mo Willems

“To give you an idea of how big it [the world] truly is, try to imagine an abstract space fifteen football fields long by twenty-five football fields wide.

The world is much bigger than that.”

Before he was the creator of The Pigeon, Elephant and Piggy, and Knuffle Bunny, author and illustrator Mo Willems was a student fresh out of college and in his own words simply not “ready to start an uncertain career in animation.” His solution, “a big trip around the world seemed like a plausible way to save face.” Told through cartoons drawn at the end of each day’s traveling herein lies the tale of one artist’s journey from New York City to Egypt, Nepal, Singapore, San Francisco and all points in between.
