Welcome to the Library of Things, the Downingtown Library’s non-traditional collection of items for kids.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our rules and guidelines of borrowing these items.
Rules and guidelines for borrowing:
- Cardholder’s library account must be up-to-date, fine-free, and without restrictions.
- Items (Things) must be picked up and returned inside the Downingtown library. A fine of $50 will be charged if items are returned to other than inside the Downingtown Library. If the Thing is returned to another Chester County library, late fee will be charged until the Thing arrives to Downingtown Library.
- Things may be borrowed for 1 week at a time and cannot be renewed. Items cannot be placed on hold.
- Borrower is fully responsible for the Thing borrowed and will be billed for damaged or lost items. Borrower shall not make any alterations to the Thing.
- The Downingtown Library is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur from using the Thing.

Bring out the fun of musical instrument learning, the best way to get to know the basic rhythm, composition and strumming for kids to teens to college ages’ beginners.

Mobile Hotspots for Internet access
The Downingtown Library has three Mobile Beacon (4G LTE) Hotspots to borrow. They allow access to unlimited, high speed internet service anywhere a Sprint signal can be received. Up to 10 devices may be connected at a time.
Late fee: $20 per day
Lost/damaged fee: $100
