Summer Reading

Downingtown Library offers a teen program (for teens going into 6th grade through those going into 12th grade) as a part of our 2025 Color Our World Summer Reading Program. Teens who register to be a part of the program will receive a folder with activity sheets to complete. Completed activity sheets earn raffle tickets for a chance to win a basket at the end of the program in August!

This summer, teens will receive a Bingo Sheet of small reading activities, which they can complete to make a bingo (up and down, across, or diagonal). Each time a teen makes a bingo, they can bring the completed sheet back to the library at the teen volunteer table to receive a raffle ticket and a new bingo sheet. Teens may complete multiple sheets (one bingo per sheet) through the end of the program on August 9th.

A wallet page is included in the registration folders. Feel free to cut out and make the wallets for a place to keep raffle tickets safe until August.

An additional and optional activity sheet included in the registration folders is a Yoto Activity Sheet. Here, teens have the chance to read any book they choose and fill out the activity sheet for a chance to win a Yoto Player. Activity sheets must be turned in upon completion at the teen volunteer table to receive a special “rainbow raffle ticket”, which will only be eligible for the Yoto Player raffle basket.

During the week leading up to August 9th, teens can bring their raffle tickets back to the library for a chance to win a raffle basket.

We hope you will join us at the library to be a part of this year’s summer reading program!
